The completely re-engineered TLX is powered by a new 2.0-liter 272-HP DOHC VTEC® Turbo engine. The new Turbo 4-cylinder engine delivers more peak torque than the outgoing 3.5-liter V6, with a dramatic increase at lower rpm’s (1500 rpm) and wider range where it counts the most. If you really want power, the Type S -- which will be available in Spring 2021 -- offers a turbocharged 3.0L V6 that is estimated to produce 355 horsepower and 354 foot-pounds of torque.
Even more performance improvements for the 2021 TLX include a sport-tuned chassis with double wishbone front suspension with integrated dynamics and available active dampers and a high performance quick-shifting 10-speed transmission. Electro-servo braking, inspired by the NSX, delivers braking performance comparable to a supercar. And every TSX model is available with Acura's torque vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) system, which makes handling better in a variety of weather conditions.
Complementing the elegant new design and athletic stance, the 2021 TLX offers premium technologies and amenities. New “Chicane” daytime running lights paired with new four-lamp Jewel Eye® LED headlights and LED fog lights make sure the TLX is seen during the day and will brighten up night drives. Power Folding Mirrors with Puddle Light and Smart Entry make getting into your TLX safe and convenient.
When you get into the TLX, the upscale interior surrounds you with premium details featuring genuine metal and wood finishes for a truly personal, first-class seating experience. The leatherette-trimmed seats wrap you in comfort. But for a truly luxurious experience, TLX offers a Milano leather seating option. Inspired by the Acura Precision Cockpit, the heated and ventilated power seats offer up to 16-way adjustment – so every driver in the house can find a comfortable driving position. Rain-sensing wipers with available windshield wiper de-icer keeps the driver’s view clear in any weather condition.
Best-in-class technologies new to TLX include a new implementation of Acura's True Touchpad Interface™. With a large 10.2 inch HD center display, the standard Acura Navigation System with 3D View and AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic™ with Traffic Jam Assist are easy to see as you’re driving and convenient for your passenger, too. Natural language voice recognition and full CarPlay® and Android Auto™ Integration allows the TLX to easily respond to your voice commands. You can also wrap yourself in fine sound with the ELS STUDIO 3D® premium audio system with Telford subwoofer -- for the ultimate car stereo listening experience.
The new TLX expands on its standard AcuraWatch™ suite of advanced safety and driver-assistant technologies with the addition of Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) and Traffic Sign Recognition which can help keep you safer when driving on city streets. TLX also includes Blind Spot Information (BSI), Rear Cross-Traffic Monitor, and Front and Rear Parking Sensors to make driving and parking easy and convenient.
