There are many things about Acura vehicles that we love here at Neil Huffman Acura at Oxmoor.

We are incredibly proud to sell Acura’s ever-improving lineup of vehicles because the automaker has demonstrated, year after year, a commitment to being a standard-bearer in all areas of automobile design and manufacturing.

One such area is safety, which Acura has definitively secured a reputation as one of the most reliably safe producers of vehicles.

This was supported by Acura’s recent sweep of the 2023 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick Awards.

Acura and the IIHS Awards

Three Acura vehicles were awarded with the Top Safety Pick Plus (TSP+) award.

It is a big enough deal to get a TSP+ award for just one of your vehicles. This is because the IIHS awards are like the Oscars for automobile safety: Everyone in the automobile industry pays attention to the awards because they are prestigious, partly because the awards have traditionally been difficult to win.

It was more difficult than ever this year, too.

New, More Rigorous Safety Testing for the IIHS Awards

This year, the IIHS Awards subjected candidate vehicles to the most rigorous safety testing in IIHS history.

One example is that the side crash test now involves 82 percent more energy than the original test.

Other key changes include increased pressure on creating sophisticated pedestrian crash prevention systems and better headlight performance that helps both the driver, and other drivers, on the road.

You can rest assured, then, that when you buy an Acura vehicle from Neil Huffman Acura at Oxmoor, you are getting one of the safest cars you can take on the road.

This is especially the case if you buy any of the three Top Safety Pick Plus winners.

These Three Vehicles are Top Safety Pick Plus Winners

All three vehicles feature the AcuraWatch safety technology system, which includes collision monitoring systems that detect pedestrians, oncoming traffic, and other potential problems on the road.

One such feature is the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), which will automatically apply the brakes when there is a potential frontal impact.

Among the winners, first up is the 2023 Acura Integra is a sport compact vehicle that passed the safety tests. Compared to SUVs, compact vehicles are much more difficult to pass a safety test.

In fact, it is so difficult to pass IIHS’ safety test with a small car, that Acura was the only automaker that managed to win a small car TSP+ award, as you can see here

What’s more, the 2023 Acura Integra earned “superior” rankings in the front crash prevention category.

If you are in the market for an SUV, however, you can get some of the safest on the road with the 2023 Acura MDX or the other midsize luxury sedan winner, the 2023 Acura RDX.

The 2023 Acura MDX earned high scores, earning “superior” rankings in many categories. The same goes for the 2023 Acura RDX’s rankings.

If you are in the market for an exceptionally safe vehicle, when you buy any of these Top Safety Pick Plus vehicles from Neil Huffman Acura, you are sure to get the best price on the market.

Still searching for a new or used vehicle that is right for you? If you have any questions for us about our new or used vehicle inventory, be sure to contact us today and we will help you find what you are looking for.

All of the major carmakers are competing to create the most innovative and high-quality electric vehicles (EV).

Fuel vehicles will be phased out of automakers’ production lines within the coming decades. Whether you are team EV or a skeptic, the reality is that EVs will become the norm. Electrified automobiles will soon become the only choice for consumers looking to buy new cars.

Acura may be placing itself at the top of the pack with its electrification initiative, PrecisionEV.

Acura will start its “electrified era”  in 2024. If you are looking to buy an electric vehicle in the coming years, read on for what electrification will mean for you, Acura, and the automotive industry as a whole.

What Drivers Should Spring for Acura EVs?

Acuras are known for creating performance vehicles, and their EVs are going to be following that tradition.

In fact, Acura described its attitude to ensuring that EVs don’t sacrifice performance as an “aggressive stance”, which signals that if you want an EV that will be a powerful ride, then Acura is the brand to go with.

Benefits of Driving an Electric Acura Vehicle

If you watched the 2023 Super Bowl, you saw plenty of electric vehicle ads that stressed these vehicles’ ability to reach long distances, and the appeal of charging.

However, there are many more benefits to consider as well, which we’ll detail below.

Electric motors can achieve instant torque at 0 rpm, allowing for faster takeoffs.

Some states allow EVs access to high-occupancy vehicle lanes, which can save you time on your commutes.

Batteries are also designed for longevity, with most manufacturers offering an 8-year, or 100,000-mile, warranty for batteries.

The big draw for many is that low emissions is better for the environment. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the average passenger fuel vehicle emits 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide every year.

This is significant, because it contributes to “the greenhouse effect”, where carbon dioxide lingers in the earth’s atmosphere, letting heat in from without, but not letting heat outside of the earth’s atmosphere. So, the atmospheric layer of carbon dioxide that fuel vehicles contribute to functions much like greenhouse glass that traps heat.

Oh, and you save plenty of money that would otherwise be going to gas.

Charging Stations Will Be the Next Gas Stations

For many people curious about EVs, the worry is that charging an EV may be a challenge.

However, there is no need to worry, as electric charging stations are becoming more and more common. In fact there are already close to 50,000 electric vehicle charging stations across the U.S.A.

If you can afford it, you can get an individual charging station, which 130,000 people have already invested in.

Will Shell, BP, Chevron, et al be folding now that charging stations are expanding nationwide, while fuel cars are slowly but surely being phased out of the marketplace?

If your intuition is yes, consider that the manufacturers of fuel vehicles are now making electric vehicles. You can be certain that those gas station chains will be converting to electric charging stations in the future.

So, there will be more than enough charging stations in the country to get you through your EV road trips in the coming years.

At Neil Huffman Acura at Oxmoor, we are always excited to ring in the new year.

Not only do plenty of new cars hit our lots during the month of January, but automakers like Acura begin previewing some of the great vehicles they will be putting out later in the year.

One such vehicle is the 2024 Acura Integra Type S

New Year, New You, and New Cars

Of all the new cars being previewed for a 2023 release date, few have garnered such enthusiasm as the 2024 Acura Integra Type S.

For instance, Car and Driver has said that they were impressed by the previews and that this sporty sedan has more promise than many competitors’ offerings.

2024 Acura Integra Type S Release Date

As of this writing, no specific date has been given, but Acura is promising a summer 2023 release.

What Excites Us About the 2024 Acura Integra Type S

What draws a lot of eyes to this vehicle is that it is a high-performance vehicle that can still be driven as a go-to luxury car suited to your daily transportation needs.

Acura is certainly delivering on the promise of high performance. In a newsletter shared this past December, Acura revealed that the 2024 Acura Integra Type S will feature a 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged engine.

That engine can reach 300 horsepower, and the drive will be further improved with a 6-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential

You may have heard of a limited-slip differential, but may not grasp why this can play such an important role in how your car drives.

A limited-slip differential ensures drivers can optimize power during crucial moments, such as turning a corner, without losing traction.

The alternative is an open differential, which tends to be lower-cost but at the downside of struggling to handle challenging road conditions.

Who Is the 2024 Acura Integra Type S For?

If you are wondering whether this vehicle would be a good fit for you, then consider a few things.

For one, the 2024 Acura Integra Type S is most likely to appeal to drivers who enjoy hitting high speeds and challenging turns.

Of course, it will still be a great car for everyday driving, so if you are looking for a powerful sedan that can handle difficult road conditions, or smoothly handle highway speeds, then spring for this.

In other words, if the words “street performance” appeal to you with respect to how a car drives, then you will find a lot to love in the 2024 Acura Integra Type S.

2024 Acura Integra Type S Price

As of right now, it is unknown how much this vehicle will cost.

A good estimate for a new 2024 Acura Integra Type S would likely be above $40,000.

Acura Type S Trims

Drivers who prefer a sportier look will find a lot to love in Acura’s Type S trims, which will be offered in select new Acura models.

Some of the notable recent Type S trim models have been the 2023 Acura MDX Type S–the first SUV to join the Type S series—and the 2023 Acura TLX Type S

The first Type S Acura model was the 2001 3.2CL Acura TL Type S. Since then, the Type S history has been filled with more iterations of the Acura TL Type S and an Acura RSX Type S, as well as MDX and TLX models in recent years.

Now that Acura will be offering a Type S option for select new models, we here at Neil Huffman Acura at Oxmoor will offer a rundown of what the Type S offers drivers.

Why Buy a Type S Model?

The sleek, sporty look of Type S models is only the beginning of what this trim has to offer. Greater power, improved safety, and better handling are what you get with a Type S model.

Take a look below at some of the reasons why you should consider getting a Type S if you are in the market for an Acura vehicle.

The Type S Engine Upgrade

For one, springing for a Type S will net you a serious power upgrade. With the 2023 Acura TLX, the Type S trim comes with a 355-horsepower 3-Liter V6 engine.

Meanwhile, the base model trim comes with a 272-horsepower 2-Liter 4-cylinder engine.

Safety with Style

Compared to the base trim, the 2023 Acura MDX Type S includes front and rear parking sensors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and self-sealing tires that protect you from minor punctures and eases navigation if you do get a flat.

In addition to those features, there is an advanced collision-mitigation braking system that pumps the brakes for you when a potential fender-bender is detected.

Better Handling

The 2023 Acura TLX Type S includes Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD), which is not included in the base model. SH-AWD adds greater steering ability by optimizing the amount of power sent to each wheel. This involves a self-regulating torque distribution system that makes tire rotation incredibly smooth.

In addition to that, rev-matching downshifts ensure that acceleration will be as smooth as possible.

Great Interior

The Type S models prove that style can be preserved through power and safety upgrades. Just take a look at the 2023 Acura MDX Type S’s gloss black emblems

On the interior, you get more than just sleek leather seating, as an illuminated door sill trim, premium carpet mat set, and folding cargo tray combine functionality and aesthetics.

Sit Back and Enjoy the Benefits

At Neil Huffman Acura, getting your Acura vehicle serviced does not have to be an interruption to your day. Our lounge is a quiet space that includes complimentary beverages, WiFi, and comfortable seating. Whether you are looking to relax or work while in the lounge, you are sure to make the best of your time!

Read about our different packages below, all of which include a complimentary (and optional) wash and vacuum that will extend the time to just under an hour.

Accelerated Service Maintenance Minder: Codes A1 and B1

This package is equivalent to 7,500 maintenance interval

A comprehensive multi-point inspection is just the beginning of this wide-ranging service, which covers the outside of the car (such as checking exterior lighting) to the inside (we will test the battery condition).

We make sure the big stuff is covered by inspecting the suspension components and inspecting the underside of the chassis.

Our oil change is specially-fit for your Acura vehicle, as we change the engine oil with Genuine Acura Motor Oil and Parts. If you have A, then we throw in an optional oil filter change.

Your tires will also be taken care of, with a tire condition inspection, tire pressure adjustment, and even a tire rotation!

Safety is a key concern in our servicing, as we go out of our way to inspect the brake component, measure the brake line wear, and check that your seat belts are properly functioning and in no danger of wear-and-tear problems.

We also inspect all vital fluids and hand torque all lug nuts, rounding out this wealth of services all done within a span of 30 minutes.

Accelerated Service Maintenance Minder: Codes A1, 2 and B1, 2

This package is equivalent to 15,000 maintenance interval, and includes all of the services mentioned in the above package, with some additional perks.

Those additional services are an engine air filter replacement, cabin air filter replacement, and a tire wear measurement.

What these offer is ensuring that the air you breathe inside your vehicle is safe and high quality. We especially recommend this service to anyone with asthma or other breathing issues, as well as smokers (this includes vaping).

Accelerated Service Maintenance Minder: Code 6 Differential Fluid Change

It’s all in the name for this one. Here, we drain differential fluid and replace it with Genuine Acura Differential Fluid.

The main benefit of this service is that it allows you better control when you make your turns, as the differential is what is responsible for distributing vehicle power to the wheels.

Ensuring the differential is in good condition will involve a differential fluid change.

The Neil Huffman Auto Group includes Acura, Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, and Volkswagen dealerships, strategically located throughout Louisville, KY, Frankfort, KY, and Southern Indiana areas.

Buying a used vehicle can be a very involved process. There are always many factors to consider, the quality of the vehicle (or, just “how used” the vehicle is) being foremost among many customers’ concerns.

At Neil Huffman Acura, we thoroughly inspect our used vehicles to ensure that they are fit for our customers, with 182-point inspections and more. We even offer additional benefits, such as free services (including two years of complimentary maintenance for many of our used vehicles) and our Huffman Platinum Plan Warranty that lasts for the first 90 days or 3,0000 miles of vehicle ownership, whichever comes first.

We understand that customers’ concerns with buying used vehicles are amplified when they are buying luxury vehicles, where quality is of the utmost concern.

We want to help our customers as much as we can when it comes to buying used vehicles, which is why we are offering some of our tips below for how to get the most out of your experience of buying a used vehicle.

Tips for Buying a Used Luxury Vehicle

One of the distinguishing features of luxury vehicles is that they are absolutely loaded with all kinds of features, not the least of which is the technology in the interior.

For this reason, it is wise to test them all out at the dealership and during your test drive. This is especially true of the safety features, as collision monitoring and parking sensors can be great for assisting you on the road.

It is also good to ask the dealer questions about why the previous owner turned the vehicle in, if reasons were given. This can give you any key insights into what to expect with owning the vehicle, and whether any of the previous owners’ issues are dealbreakers for you.

Another aspect to consider is whether the previous owner made any upgrades to the vehicle, and, importantly, whether these were done with cheap parts or not. Oftentimes, upgrades can mean additional costs.

Speaking of additional costs, be sure to think about whether you can afford the vehicle after you purchase it. Car insurance, maintenance, and costlier gas mileage are just a few of the factors that can make owning a luxury vehicle a more demanding investment in the long run.

However, if you can afford keeping it beyond the purchase price, there are many benefits you will enjoy from a luxury vehicle. Just check out a few of our used luxury vehicles below.

2020 Acura MDX Technology SH-AWD

Heated seats, all-wheel drive (AWD), premium upgraded audio, blind-spot assistance, and a rear power tailgate are just a few of the great features that you get with the 2020 Acura MDX Technology SH-AWD.

2022 Acura NSX Type S

If you are in the market for a supercar, then you are probably looking to check off a few boxes on a wishlist: A car that looks exotic, drives like a race car while still being street-legal, and offers high performance in a variety of areas.

For those looking to check off those wishlist boxes and more, then you can do no wrong with the 2022 Acura NSX Type S, which is Acura’s highest-performance vehicle yet

With a limited-production run of vehicles, the 2022 Acura NSX Type S can be hard to get your hands on, though we here at Neil Huffman Acura at Oxmoor will do everything we can to get our customers a great supercar at a great price.

2022 Acura NSX Type S: Acura’s Best Supercar Yet

Why has the 2022 Acura NSX Type S, which has been a great favorite in the driving world since its debut last year, become such a must-drive for supercar enthusiasts?

Taking a look at its features will tell you just why.

A hybrid vehicle, the 2022 Acura NSX Type S reaches the performance standards of other classic and contemporary supercars while also reaching new heights for electrified vehicles.

For one, it is an incredibly powerful vehicle, reaching 600 horsepower with the help of a twin-turbo V-6 engine that sounds as good as it performs.

The 2022 Acura NSX Type S can reach a maximum speed of 191 mph, and can go from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.0 seconds, so be gentle when you press down on the pedal.

Just as this vehicle can speed up with grace, it can slow down safely and effectively through super sports brakes that are fade-free.

In between accelerating and braking, you will also enjoy magnificently smooth handling, which is partly due to an upgraded active damper system that adjusts suspension when necessary, ensuring a cleaner riding experience that makes the vehicle less sensitive to bumps on the road.

As far as fuel economy goes, the 2022 Acura NSX Type S gets 21 mpg City / 22 mpg Highway / 21 mpg Combined*, requiring premium unleaded fuel.

The interior was specifically designed to give the driver the feeling of being in a race car, albeit one with a sophisticated infotainment system and comfort. Also, you do not need to wear a helmet to drive one.

However, you can still take the 2022 Acura NSX Type S on the racetrack if you wish, just as you can take it on the road for a casual Sunday drive. This is made possible through four driving modes that cover a range of driving situations, with the Quiet mode range specifically designed to make sure this supercar does not wake the neighbors when you drive down the street.

Neil Huffman Acura’s Supercars

There is a limited production of the 2022 Acura NSX Type S, with 350 vehicles available worldwide. Suffice it to say, if you want to get your hands on this vehicle, be sure to reach out to Neil Huffman Acura at Oxmoor as soon as possible.

*Based on current year EPA mileage ratings. Use for comparison purposes only. Your actual mileage will vary, depending on how you drive and maintain your vehicle, driving conditions, battery pack age/condition (hybrid models only) and other factors.

After a long absence, this brand favorite is returning to Neil Huffman Acura at Oxmoor!

If you’re a brand-loyal Acura driver, you may have heard the exciting news that after a long market absence, the all-new 2023 Acura Integra is set to debut in dealerships soon. If you’re like all of us at Neil Huffman Acura at Oxmoor in Louisville, we cannot wait to show off this slick, sporty beauty in our dealership showroom!

We are especially thrilled to learn of all the safety features included in the 2023 Acura Integra. Here are some highlights:

  • AcuraWatchTM Safety Technology
  • Standard Blindspot Warning
  • Standard Rear Cross-Traffic Warnings
  • Lane Assist Technology
  • Parking Sensor System
  • Next-Generation Airbag System

Crystal Clear Camera Monitoring

The 2023 Acura Integra’s single-camera monitoring system covers a deep field of vision along with a wide range, so you’ll feel secure knowing there’s essentially another eye on the road looking out for your safety.

This system can cover hundreds of feet surrounding your vehicle, alerting you when you’re getting a bit too close to an adjacent vehicle or any object on the road ahead. A sound alert and visual cue will display on Integra’s touchscreen to let you know to be alert and slow down.

Next Generation Airbag

The 2023 Acura Integra’s airbag is the next generation in airbag design, where the focus is minimizing impact specifically to passengers’ head and neck, so as to decrease chances of potential impact brain injury.

Blind Spot and Rear Traffic Monitoring

The 2023 Acura Integra includes lights on both side mirrors, which blink when an object is within your car’s blind zone. Additionally, the rear monitoring feature alerts drivers to cross traffic that may become dangerously close to your vehicle.

Also handy with the rear monitoring feature is assistance with parallel parking, perhaps preventing drivers from dinging your car or someone else’s in the process!

Stay in Your Lane

A new and improved Lane Keeping Assist System is a central safety feature of the all-new 2023 Acura Integra. This feature monitors your driving lane, alerting you if you should drift beyond designated lines or other markings.

This special feature is perfect for late night drives or commutes through stormy weather, where limited visibility may create difficulty for drivers to remain in their designated lane.
